The SAT is a college entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to determine admissions. It's a multiple choice test that includes Reading and Writing, Mathematics and offers an optional Essay portion. Each section is scored on a scale ranging from 200 - 800, which means the total scores combines range from 400 - 1600.

The ACT is a college entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to determine admissions. It's a multiple choice test that includes English, Math, Reading, Science and an optional Writing portion. The sections are scored individually but there is a composite score that ranges from 1 - 36 and is the average score for all 4 sections.
